Company profile

AD speakers are considered international high-end products and are among the world's famous products.

AD's predecessor company was founded in 1974 by Dutchmen Luis van Rossum and Frans van Meulebroeck. This is a perfect combination. The former is an entrepreneur with international perspective, while the latter is a senior electronics engineer at Royal Dutch Philips. At that time, the company's headquarters were in Altea on the southeastern coast of Spain.

The company was originally called Prosound, and in the 1970s, the tourism industry was booming. Prosound was developed to meet the growing demand for amplifier systems in theaters, multi-purpose rooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, bars, discos, concerts, and festivals. Prosound offered them excellent professional services and quickly established a strong reputation among customers through word of mouth, as Prosound offered a complete suite of services: amplifiers, speaker systems, and processors. This was undoubtedly rare in that era.

Prosound's success continued into the 1980s, when the PS Series, released during this period, became a milestone in the company's development. Their reliability and durability ensured their demanding daily use in theaters, multi-purpose rooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, parties, bars, and rock concerts, earning them a reputation throughout Spain. Prosound's reputation has been widely recognized ever since because its customers knew that Prosound products never disappointed in practice, whether subjected to the most rigorous use by professionals or roughly treated by Spain's younger generation obsessed with the crazy nightlife. In fact, many PS Series audio systems still function well today, holding up after 25 years of normal use.
